Turn Faith into Action
Turn faith into ACTION! Here are actions that you can take to help others in need in May:
- Mini-conference: Exploring the Health Issues related to Climate and a “solutions fair” will be held Saturday, May 13 from 9:00am-4:00pm at Southwest High School in Minneapolis. Health department officials will speak on the ramifications of fossil fuel use. The Emmy Award winning documentary “My Last Breath” will be shown. A solutions fair accompanying the lectures will offer examples of technologies and policies that can better our lives.
- A film “Facing the Surge” will be shown at 7:00pm on Thursday, May 18 at the Edina Senior Center. The film documents the costs of sea level rise on Norfolk, Virginia and other coastal communities. It tells the stories of people who try to raise awareness of climate change and push our government to solve these issues. Admission is free.
- Interfaith Learning Café founder Osman Elhadary, Egyptology scholar and author of Moses in the Holy Scriptures of Judaism, Christianity and Islam: A Call for Peace, will talk to us on “Judaism, Christianity, Islam – Revisited” at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, Bloomington, on Thursday, May 18 at 6:30pm. Join us for an enlightened and respectful conversation and refreshments!
