VEAP (Volunteers Enlisted to Assist People)

VEAP (Volunteers Enlisted to Assist People) Volunteers are needed for both long and short-term projects assisting with the food shelf, transportation, seasonal programs, and providing office assistance. http://www.veapvolunteers.org/

VEAP has made some changes and will no longer have a Thanksgiving distribution. To better meet ongoing needs, VEAP has extended hours and will be open on the first three Saturdays in November from 9:00 AM–4:00 PM to better accommodate families who in the past, only received the Thanksgiving Program food. Due to this change our congregation is no longer collecting a specific Build-a-Bag item. Please consider making a monetary donation or shopping for some of the following items: tuna, rice, canned chicken, canned beef stew, canned chili, canned ham and SPAM, bags of dry pinto and black beans, peanut butter, flour and sugar. These foods provide cross-cultural choices with versatility for VEAP clients in preparing meals that fit their family needs. Food items can be dropped off at the Collection Corner at church on the lower-level near the elevator.

If you prefer making a cash or check donation, please make it out to Good Samaritan UMC with the memo “VEAP Food” and turn into the church office. VEAP is able to buy more food with monetary donations. Every donation is appreciated, especially at this time when VEAP is low on food.

Thank you for your ongoing help providing food support to those in need.
