The organization of United Methodist Women (UMW) is a community of women whose purpose is to: know God and experience freedom as a whole person through Jesus Christ, develop a creative, supportive fellowhsip, expand concepts of mission through particpation in the global ministries of the church. UMW sponsors a number of fellowship groups, interest groups, and activities whose focus is friendship and support.

Gals With Gals - Good Samaritan's New Support Group

Good Samaritan announces a new support group for senior women of the congregation!
Gals with Gals: This group is for any woman over the age of 55 who is looking to get together with other women to discuss a variety of topics which may include but not limited to : aging, chronic illness, care giving, sexuality, depression, adult children, life transitions, grief and loss to name just a few. The group will be held at the church starting Thursday, September 9th and every Thursday on an ongoing basis. The time will be from 10:30am-12pm. The cost is $10.00 per session per person.

Afternoon Book Group

The UMW Afternoon Book Group will meet Thursday, September 9, at 1:00 PM in the Fireside Room to discuss The House at Sugar Beach—In Search of a Lost African Childhood by Helen Cooper. Join us for discussion and refreshments. All are welcome.

Our meetings are the second Thursday of each month, September through May. We welcome women of the church to join us. The following books will be discussed during the coming year:
