W.I.L.D. Ones starts this fall on Wednesday, September 15th in the Community Room from 6:50 - 7:50. W.I.L.D. Ones are 5th and 6th graders that are learning to become Willing, Involved, Loving Disciples. This year will be a great year as we delve deeper into our understandings of ourself and what it means to be a Christian. We will be involved in service projects from the start that will be student generated and driven. We will use the, Live It! Making a World of Difference curriculum as our guide this fall. This curriculum is written to help tweens experience the interconnectedness of the world, its people and its environment. They will learn that God has a plan for them in this world, including stewardship of the earth, living in peace and engaging in service.
Parents are requested to pick at least one Wednesday to volunteer to help with the class. There is no planning needed on your part, just a willingness to volunteer and to interact with our wonderful tweens! All parents are asked to attend the parent and child meeting on Wednesday, September 22nd at 6:50pm. At that meeting we will review W.I.L.D. Ones procedures and organize volunteers. We will also discuss the goals of the tweens and the the goals of the parents.
So, W.I.L.D. Ones, come prepared to have fun, learn lots and grow as a community at Good Sam! Friends are welcome. Please email Heather at heather@good.org to sign-up for W.I.L.D. Ones. I look forward to an awesome year with you all!

Sunday mornings, from 10:15-11:45, our gym is staffed to engage children ages 3 years – 6th grade in structured play. Parents MUST check in/out their child to this time of play. The benefit – children have a great time and parents have peace of mind knowing where their kids are and what they are doing.

Here's a way you can improve your vocabulary while providing rice to feed hungry people of the world. As you play the word game, Free Rice will donate 10 grains of rice to the United Nations World Food Program, for every word you answer correctly. If you don't think this adds up you'll be surprised to know that on October 7, 2007, this hot internet game had 830 grains of rice. By November 14. 2007 participants had generated 1.897.053.670 grain of rice - that's almost 2 billion grains in less than 6 weeks. The warning that with the game reads: This game may make you smarter. It may improve your speaking, writing, thinking, grades, and job performance. You can play the word game or learn more about its purpose by visiting www.freerice.com.
