Reconciling Church

Good Samaritan is a Reconciling Congregation. ALL are always welcome!

Sign the “GOD LOVES ALL PEOPLE SO DO WE” letter.

The Reconciling Ministry at Good Samaritan has been active for more than twenty-five years. We welcome and affirm all persons regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, race or socioeconomic background. We seek to reconcile any differences that divide us. We seek full inclusion of the LGBTQIA+ Community in the life of our denomination.

Good Samaritan’s Statement of Connection with the LGBTQIA+ Community

Good Samaritan United Methodist Church believes that we are all children of God and that God loves us all equally. We welcome and affirm people of all sexual orientations. We pledge our love and acceptance to all people, especially those who have felt abandoned by the institutional church. We proclaim ourselves to be a church of reconciliation to all people.

Making it Happen

Good Samaritan UMC is an active and financially supportive member of the Minnesota Reconciling Congregations. We participate in the annual Twin cities Pride Festival. Through written communications and financial support, we continue to work with the Reconciling Ministries Network (RMN) to change the Discipline of the United Methodist Church to fully include the LGBTQIA+ community. These efforts include links to other social justice initiatives through the Love Your Neighbor Coalition. We are working with RMN to bring change and to prepare for the next General Conference scheduled to be held in the Twin Cities in May 2020.

Please join us in this effort with your time, your talents and your financial support.
